Colleagues in Space is a collaboration between Simon Persson and Sara Annsofidotter on the topic of post-Fordian working conditions and methods. By relocating their practises they research artistic means of production and values.

Colleagues in Space - coworking took part spring 2018 when the artist duo located their studios to a co-working space for entrepreneurs and startups.

The project began with an interest in the motivations and conditions of contemporary working life. Ranging from its idealisation of performance and flexibility, to the relationship between the worker and the private, and how this physically manifests in the objects, architecture and social organisation of the work environment.

Intrigued by rhythms in a post-industrial setting, the project explored the close links between the managing of an artistic practice and the entrepreneurial in the co-working space. Looking into structural similarities and whether or not there is a common understanding of the ideals of creativity used in both environments.

During their stay the duo flex-worked in Helios 8 different locations across Stockholm, bringing their practice into the chic office spaces, at each site introduced as the artists. To connect with their new coworkers they hosted collective breakfast and arranged meetings, as well as participating in the community’s various events such as lectures, lunches and office yoga.

To document their appearance a professional photographer was hired and an artist book developed using a note book, a stock supply in Helios offices.
